Charssi Spoon Fudge

Several months ago I tried something called spoon fudge. I was part of a message board and another member there is the creator of this particular fudge and sells it online. Every time someone placed and received their order a thread was started about how great and fantastic this spoon fudge was. Of course I had to try it!
I ordered the Chocolate and the Chocolate Cherry, and included with my order was a small sample of Chocolate Pecan or Walnut — like I said it’s been several months now and I don’t remember exactly (can’t find either on the site now), but it was delicious.
Anyway, both of the jars I ordered were quite tasty. However, after the first few tries I couldn’t help but think I was eating frosting. As in cake frosting. Now, don’t get me wrong, it was good. But the consistency, the mouth feel, aftertaste, all of it made me feel like I had just spent money on two tubs of frosting, only at triple the price for not as much as I’d get at the local grocery store. And the really sad thing is I’m not a frosting kind of person. I’ll eat it on a cake or with something else but the thought of just scooping and eating it from the tub makes me slightly ill. To be honest I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I think my past experiences with good old regular hand-held fudge may have clouded my perception of what I thought I was going to get, when in reality this was something you could quite literally frost a cake with (hence “spoon” in the name, I know, I know!).
Anyway, it looks like they’re not selling again until August (they’re located in Arizona so I’m pretty sure the heat plays a factor in that, which I completely empathize with). I’ve considered getting a sample pack (which is only two flavors of their choosing for $5) but we’ll see.
Even though it wasn’t up my alley I would recommend it, at least for a try and especially if you’re a frosting-straight-from-the-tub kind of person. Have you ever had spoon fudge? This particular brand? What do you think of it?

I was interested in them, but they use partially hydrogenated oils … and the list of ingredients was simply too long for something called Fudge.

You’re right, I hadn’t even considered how long the ingredients lists are!

The flavors look good, but as you mentioned… frosting is cheaper. But someone obviously was thinking about a new product to release to the public. Anything with fudge in the name would grab my attention!!
