Add Some Drizzle
It really it amazing how much the look of a dessert, or any kind of food, can change your perception of its taste. Take the dessert pictured above, for example. I probably wouldn’t find the piece of pie that appealing if it was just placed on a plate on its own. Of course I would still eat it. But add a fancy sliced strawberry and large chocolate curl for garnish, sprinkle it all with icing sugar, and drizzle with chocolate, and it suddenly looks so much more tantalizing.
The easiest way to drizzle chocolate is of course to drizzle it over an entire pie or cake or tray of squares, rather than drizzling each separate piece as you serve it. The old sandwich bag trick works the best for those of us without the proper tools. Melt some chocolate, pour it into a plastic sandwich bag, cut a small hole in one corner, then squeeze it out slowly over the dessert. Easy elegance!
