Mmm Delicious Brownies

I had a van full of kids to drive to dance class the other day, so I thought I’d whip up a batch of cookies for them. However, I used a new recipe that turned out way to runny to be cookie batter. With a few minor changes I poured it all into a square […]

Breakfast Cereal Should be Chocolate-Free

Now that may seem like a strange thing for a chocoholic to say.  You would think that I would want the taste of chocolate in everything I eat.  But that’s just not the case.  Take a look at the chocolate cheese post below, and I’m still unsure about chocolate beer.
Now apparently Kellogg’s has announced it […]

Chocolate Cheese

What is that stuff on top of the lettuce? Looks kind of like meat, but the colour isn’t quite right. Looks kind of like rubber, but what’s it doing on the lettuce? Could it really be chocolate flavoured cheese? I’ll add this to the list of strange and unusual flavour combinations that I’m not sure […]

Who Eats The Most?

Ever wondered who eats the most chocolate? My husband thinks its me, but he’s wrong. In fact, as a Canadian I don’t even make the list. No, as it turns out I have a long way to go to catch up with the Swiss. They eat a whopping 22.36 pounds of chocolate per capita per […]

Tiramisu Torte is Terrific

Last weekend I made a chocolate tiramisu torte that was heavenly. It was not the tiramisu recipe, but rather a much less fiddly version. I like that. Then it is much quicker getting to the eating part. Not all my family was impressed though. It was a little too boozy for some, which you could […]

Spinach, Tomatoes, and now Chocolate!

Who would have thought salmonella would turn up in these foods?  Up until a few short months ago, I thought salmonella was primarily a problem in undercooked meat.  Then we had salmonella scares with fresh spinach, followed by tomatoes, and now some Hershey’s chocolate bars.  Well, apparently there are about 2500 different types of salmonella […]

Chocolate Sauce

Sauce that runs like a river of chocolate is one of the true pleasures in life. I’ve got nothing against the regular grocery store sauces, they’ll do in a pinch, but homemade chocolate sauce tastes so much more sinful. In this case sinful is good. While chocolate sauce is especially good over ice cream, it […]

How to Make Chocolate Curls

I’m making one of those fancy desserts this weekend that calls for something that looks impressive as well as tastes decadent. So being the chocoholic that I am, of course I’m going to use chocolate. And chocolate curls only look time consuming. They are really very simple to make.
There are two ways to make chocolate […]

Chocolate Fountains

Why did it take so long for someone to invent these? If you’ve been to a wedding or other large party lately, chances are there’s been a chocolate fountain. Now, I must admit that the first time anyone ever said there was a chocolate fountain at a wedding they went to, I didn’t have a […]

Chocolate Robbers

It wasn’t me, really!  Some thieves with a sweet tooth stole a whole truckload of Hershey bars in Georgia this past week.  No word if the $70,000 worth of chocolate was ever recovered, but I would think that if they just look for someone with a big stomachache, they could find their man.
